The Auto Intel Council (AIC) is a private, membership-based organization owned and managed by Cherokee Media Group.
It includes the leading intelligence companies in the automotive space, along with their respective economists, analysts, researchers, data scientists, communications professionals and executives.
Current members include DRN, Equifax, IBM, KAR Auction Services, MBSi Corp., MK&A and Wells Fargo Preferred Capital.
The AIC is led by Cherokee Media Group senior editors Joe Overby and Nick Zulovich, who have a combined 20-plus years covering the automotive retail, wholesale and finance industries.
AIC provides the auto industry and its stakeholders with unique insights on key topics shaping the business.
Since its inception in July 2018, AIC has provided such insights through:
- Quarterly Auto Intel Briefings featuring data reports, whitepapers and research contributed by AIC members. The Auto Intel Briefings are sent to an audience of approximately 40,000. The briefings have covered such topics as the evolution of the auction industry, the impact of technology on “curb purchases,” projections for the auto fintech business, the vehicle trade-in process, blockchain and beyond.
- A press conference at NADA Show 2019 that included a presentation from AIC member Maryann Keller & Associates on their six-month study on franchise dealer advertising, as well as a presentation from KAR Auction Services around a data pilot program.
The Auto Intel Council meets three times annually, with the next scheduled meeting set for this summer’s Automotive Intelligence Summit, July 23-25 in Raleigh, N.C.
